Do You Want To Own Your Own Business...
One of the major misconceptions about owning your own business is that you have to do it all by yourself. If you're doing it from scratch, then that's probably true. If you have no idea what kind of business to start, then there are plenty of opportunities out there for someone who wants to start a business that's already has an established name and presence on the market. This one is the mother load of starter kits. As you can see, this is for the serious business woman!
Not only do you get a free Avon purse to carry all your new beauty products and brochures in, you get over 15 full-size products, brochures, and samples. When I say this kit will have you READAY for business, trust and believe! This one costs $100, but it's well worth more and ships free.

My Latest Struggle...
My life as an entrepreneur is so chaotic and eventful. Just two days ago, my laptop overheated and shut down by itself. I'm not going to lie, my laptop (a Dell Vostro 1015) is very old. She's my baby and I've had her since about 2011 or 12. She's very durable and I've upgraded her hard drive and software twice and she's never given me problems. You know how the old saying goes, if it ain't broke don't fix it. With that being said, unless you've been living under a rock, you had to notice that the east coast and the Midwest has been experiencing a severe heatwave these last two weeks. I bought an external fan that actually worked great for about three years, but under this heat, even SHE couldn't handle the pressure.
Both of my babies gave up. Since I earn half of my income on the Internet, this situation really stressed me out (on top of the irritation from the extreme heat). Being the hustler that I am though, I would not let this setback deter me. This situation required me to reach deep down in my bag of tricks because being an entrepreneur means constantly having to work without cash on hand. I needed another fan for my laptop as well as a wall charger for my hubby's laptop (hopefully a backup for my girl if I need it in the future). So with that being said, this is how I pulled off these two purchases with no cash:
The first place I looked was on my Sand Box account. This program is an extension of the Smart Panel app and gives you the opportunity to earn extra rewards for installing their extension (900 points per month) and doing small surveys. Most surveys pay out 200 points and require no thinking at all...LoL! The points build up fast on this one, so I looked here first. Lo and behold, I had enough points to cash out for two Amazon gift cards for a total of $20. The fan I want costs $21.99 and the cord is $9.89. I still need roughly ten bucks.
The second place I looked was my Mypoints account. I did two big shopping trips using this website last month, so I know I earned around 800 points. With the points I already had in my account (around 800 I think) I had enough to cash out the $10 gift card I needed.
I use a plethora of websites and apps that I use to keep a steady stream of income and gift cards to get the things I need for my household without the need for cash. I find that if you use these apps and websites on a consistent basis, you will always have enough cash or gift cards to cover emergency situations. I've been doing this for about ten years (at least) and these apps have been a God send to me, my family, and my business. You should check them out. I will do more posts highlighting other websites and apps that I use, so stay tuned!

How I Supplement My Income...
I know that the term "passive income" is a popular buzzword nowadays, and for good reason. Everyone knows that you should not be relying solely on your job as your main source of income. It's hard to make ends meet even for the most "degreed" earners right now. The economy is literally folding in front of our eyes, so the smart thing to do is to make as money as you can to prepare for the shock. The problem is, no one has the time to work MORE hours. The good news is....You don't necessarily have to. These simple tips and tricks can bring in extra money for you in those tight spots without sacrificing extra time out of your already busy day.
I don't understand why people would pay hundreds of dollars for a smartphone only to have dumb apps that do nothing for them financially. I've been making my phone make money for me for about three years now and the market is constantly growing everyday. Here are a few of my favorite apps that I've been using since their inception to make extra money.
Embee Mobile Meter
This app collects data from your Internet usage details. Now before you jump on that whole privacy bandwagon, you do realize that you really have NO privacy on the Internet, right? That is the biggest myth I ever heard. (If you don't believe me, Google Edward Snowden). You might as well let Big Brother pay you for your information since they are using your information anyway. I learned this lil tidbit early on. Install this app and let it sit on your phone while you collect points that can be redeemed for Amazon or Visa gift cards. The longer you let it run, the higher the points you receive. For instance, when I first started a few years ago, I earned five points a day. Now I earn twenty points a day! Also, refer you friends and earn even more! Trust me, they probably need the help, too! Here's the link:

Unless you've been under a rock these last two years, everybody should know about this app. I got in on the ground floor and watched it grow into this megalith of an app that it is now. Back when I began using it, I would get 25 cents for milk or dish detergent, but now you can earn a lot more for everything you buy! They even cover more stores and more categories like beer/wine, online shopping, and more! You just take pictures of your receipt and they give you money for the things you buy. The effort here is minimal but the perks are well worth it! Here's the link:

You should also try these apps as well. There under the same premise as Ibotta without the specific stores. You just upload your receipts (from any store) and earn points for PayPal cash or gift cards of your choice. Here are two of my favs:

These are just a few ways that I make a few extra dollars per month. I find using these apps come in handy every month when it's time to pay bills like my cell phone bill or for Hulu. They won't make you rich, but used consistently, they can used to build a nest egg for emergencies without taking any money out of your pocket.
